Unfortunately, Isabel Santaolalla (Professor of Spanish and Film Studies / Director of the Hispanic Research Centre University of Roehampton) won’t can be with us on Saturday as expected for health reasons. W_M’s team would like to wish her a sooner recovery.

Dr Joanna Evans, Head of Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS) of the University College London has kindly accepted this last minute challenge, and will we leading “Flowers from another world” cine forum.

Jo Evans has published widely on Spanish film and narrative and is the author of books on the Franco Regime poet, Ángela Figuera Aymerich and the Spanish director Julio Medem. She has a particularinterest in feminist and psychoanalytical narrative and film theory, and she teaches courses on Spanish film from the 1920s onwards focusing on opposition directors and representations of alternative ‘Spanish’ national identity.
